Glenys and her late husband, Robert ‘Bob’ Laidler, purchased Sampenny Kennels & Cattery over twenty years ago and ran it together as a family business. Sampenny Kennels was a passion for Bob and he loved the pets he cared for and treated them as his own. Customers were always greeted by a smiling, friendly welcome from Bob and knew that their pets were in great hands. Continuing Bob’s legacy, his wife Glenys runs the kennels now with assistance from an amazing team who are a family within themselves, Graeme (Manager), Carla and Andy.
They welcome customers with the same friendly nature that customers have come to know and love from Bob and Glenys and are like family to Glenys. Together they have a genuine love of animals, putting a lot of time and interaction into all pets under their care, never just putting them in a cage and leaving them there.pro
Sampenny was the natural lifestyle change for Bob after a lifetime of working in the banking industry. His customers often consider him to be sort of a “dog whisperer” because of the way their pets responded to him.
Bob’s memory lives on, with Glenys, Graeme and the rest of the team providing the same high level care and ‘dog whispering’ that customers and their pets enjoy with every visit to Sampenny Kennels & Cattery.
Along with running the business, Bob was a member of the Sunbury Rotary for twenty-eight years as well as being a past president. Bob and Glenys took a lot of pride in local issues, always involving themselves in bettering the community.
The whole team find it very rewarding working amongst their furry and sometimes feathered guests. When you love animals as much as this team does, it doesn’t feel like work at all and your furry and feathered family members will feel that love and attention from the team. Sampenny Kennels & Cattery further support the local community by employing casual staff during the peak seasons and all staff are trained to have the same work ethics and must be animal lovers!
